Simply pour all ingredients in the Instant Pot, set the timer, and by the time you finish with your morning shower you will have a warm, nutritious breakfast waiting for you. This apple cinnamon oatmeal can easily be made sweeter with a little date syrup, agave or honey.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup steel-cut oats
  • 1 apple, chopped
  • 1 cinnamon stick (or 1 tsp cinnamon)
  • 2 Tbsp almonds

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients in InstantPot
  • Put lid on, seal vent, select Manual/Pressure Cook for 3 minutes
  • Allow pressure to release naturally (should take about 10 minutes)

Do you really need an Instant Pot? No, any pressure cooker will work. But InstantPot makes it easy to use a Pressure Cooker while also providing other functions. We like this 8-Qt one for our family of four (and guests). But this 6-Qt one is fine if you usually only need to feed four.
